Bachelor of Applied Science (Food Security) with Honours programme at UMK is a new programme offered by a public university (UMK) in Malaysia. The creation of the programme is in line with Malaysia's Food Security Policy to ensure sufficient and sustainable food supply for the country. Graduates in this programme will be exposed to relevant aspects of plant and animal based product development, leading to the awareness of nation's food security aspiration. Their ability to design better food products' quality for the community will be enhanced through latest technology applications. These can be achieved by allowing them to endure research and development which will improve food products' commercial values.
